For makers, what inspired you to make this project?
The Open Source Rover is an educational outreach project that was designed to teach others how JPL builds their rovers, through cross-disciplinary collaboration. Once the rover is built, the true fun begins. At this point, the builders now have the necessary skill to innovate and modify the design or add sensors or new behaviors.
