 We are excited to have you join the 2026 City of Stem + Los Angeles Maker Faire event.
This Exhibitor Information contains details to help you prepare.
However, please continue to monitor your email for additional information, updates, and instructions as we get closer to the event and solidify every last detail.

Event Basics

Date: Sunday, April 26, 2026

Official Event Time:  9 am – 5 pm 

Location: Exposition Park, South Lawn

Opening Remarks on the Main Stage: 10 am 

Load-in & Load-Out

There is no advance load-in or delayed load-out. You are welcome to stop by on Friday evening to locate your booth before the mixer.

Entrance

All exhibitors will enter at S Figueroa St and 39th St.

Unloading Zone
  • Exhibitors can use the unloading zone on Expo Park Drive from 6:00 am – 8:15 am
  • Arrival time slots will be assigned to prevent congestion. 
  • Plan to bring a dolly or wagon to help with your unloading.
  • Do your best to limit your time in the unloading zone to 15 minutes.
Load-out
  • General load-out will immediately follow the end of the event at 5 pm on Sunday, April 26.
  • Please leave promptly at 5 pm as there are other events in Expo Park and our event must start clearing at 5 pm. 
  • Waste bins will be located throughout the park. Please use the correct receptacle (trash, recycling, compost) and clean the entire footprint of your booth before leaving.
  • Do not leave zip ties, wrappers, trash, or giveaways at your table at the end of the day.
  • Please practice “Leave No Trace.” 
  • All belongings must be removed from the park immediately. 
  • Please help event staff by removing booth sign with location from the tent and leaving it on the table.

Parking

Exhibitor Parking Location
  • Based on 2025 information, cars and vans will most likely park in the Orange Structure (clearance 8’2”). 
  • Box Trucks and Oversized Vehicles will most likely park in the Green Lot. 
  • $20 (paid on site). Carpooling and public transportation are strongly encouraged. Go Metro!
  • 2026 parking details will be confirmed soon. 

Check-in & Set-up

  • Check-in by 8:30 am.
  • All exhibitors will check-in with their Zone Lead to receive a badge and button. 
  • You may staff your booth with as many people as you wish; however, only 2 badges and buttons per booth will be provided.
  • Event staff (blue shirt), known as the “Zone Lead”, will be located along the center aisle at the end of each row.  Look for the tall blue letters for your row.
  • Booths will be identified by a sign that has your location number.  Please leave the sign visible during the event to help guests identify where they are on the map. 
  • If you need anything during set-up (tables, chairs, etc) or there are any problems with your booth setup or equipment when you arrive, tell your Zone Lead. Do not remove equipment from other booths. 
  • When the event starts, Zone Leads will relocate to the nearest Info Booth and will be available to assist as needed.
  • Tables will be setup the night before and may be damp in the morning. Bring a towel to wipe them down.

Booth & Safety Guidelines

Standard Booths come with:
  • 10’x10’ canopy
  • 1 six-foot table
  • 2 chairs

If you need a different size or more equipment, be sure to request that on your application. 

Additional Booth Information
  • Booth details and location will be shared in a direct email closer to the event date. 
  • Tablecloths will not be provided, please bring your own.
  • All exhibits must be stable, secure, and designed to prevent tipping or collapsing.
  • All tools and machines must be supervised at all times when in use.
  • No open flames or hazardous chemicals unless pre-approved by event staff.
  • Power tools and electrical components must be properly grounded and safe for use.
  • Don’t leave sharp or dangerous materials within reach of children.

🌟 Remember: Your space is your canvas! Feel free to personalize it with banners, lights, props, and anything that helps you stand out (within safety guidelines). 

Power & Wifi

Power
  • Each booth will have access to one standard electrical outlet.  You are required to bring your own extension cord (at least 25’) and power strip with enough outlets for your items that need power.
  • Please do not overload the circuits.  If your booth requires high power, be sure to indicate that on your registration and discuss your needs with the event planners.
  • Generators will be turned on when the Fire Marshall deems it is safe to do so.  Sometimes this is delayed if the ground is damp. 
  • Please do NOT bring gas generators of your own as they are not cleared by the Fire Marshall and will not be allowed. 
Wifi
  • Wifi will NOT be provided. The park does not have reliable public wifi.
  • If your booth depends on WiFi please bring a mobile hotspot and your charger.

Food

  • There will be numerous food trucks on-site at the event from which you are welcome to purchase food.  
  • Pre-ordered box lunches will be available for exhibitors who would like to avoid food truck lines. Pricing and order details will be provided to accepted exhibitors.

Restrooms

Portable restrooms will be available along with hand washing stations.

Lost & Found
  • Lost items may be sent to the main Info Booth (#3) for safekeeping.
  • If you encounter a lost/missing person, immediately inform an event staff member in a blue shirt or volunteer in a pink shirt. 
Accessibility Support

The Department on Disability will have a booth (location TBD). 

First Aid
  • A First Aid booth will be near the main Info Booth (#3).
  • In the event of an emergency, please call 9-1-1 and send somebody to inform the nearest event staff in a blue shirt of the situation.

Prohibited Items & Exposition Park Rules

Here is a list of prohibited and restricted items which are NOT permitted on State Property and not permitted for sale (unless authorized or permitted). Office of Exposition Park Management patrons (to whom permit was issued to) and their vendors remain fully responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations; and/or restrictions on items, services, or manner of sale, payment or exchange, that may apply to transactions in which they participate – including but not limited to those imposed by the State of California and the Office of Exposition Park Management.

Restricted Items
  • Weapons and related items, including but not limited to firearms, disguised, undetectable or switchblade knives, martial arts weapons, scopes, silencers, ammunition, magazines, BB guns, tear gas or stun guns.
  • Items issued to United States Armed Forces that have not been disposed of in accordance with Department of Defense demilitarization policies.
  • Fireworks, including but not limited to “safe and sane” fireworks or any destructive devices or explosives.
  • Controlled substance or illegal drugs, substances and items used to manufacture controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
  • Alcohol or tobacco products.
  • Household pets of any kind including but not limited to dogs, cats, primates, cage birds, rodents, reptiles, amphibians, fish, etc…
  • Restricted or regulated plants and insects, including but not limited to noxious weeds, endangered plant species, or live insects or pests.
  • Pesticides or hazardous substances, or items containing hazardous substances including but not limited to contaminated toys, or art craft material containing toxic substances without a warning label.
  • Illegal telecommunications equipment, including but not limited to access cards, password sniffers, access card programmers and unloopers, or cable descramblers.
  • Burglary tools, including but not limited to lock-picks or motor vehicle master keys.
  • Counterfeit currency, coins and stamps, tickets, as well as equipment designed to make them.
  • Counterfeit, replica, or knock-off brand name goods.
  • Material that infringes copyright, including but not limited to software or other digital goods you are not authorized to sell, warez, bootlegs (without consent of the band).
  • Gambling items, including but not limited to lottery tickets, sports trading card “grab bags”, raffle tickets, sweepstakes entries or slot machines.
  • Used or rebuilt batteries or batteries containing mercury
Additional Restrictions
  • Bulk email or mailing lists that contain names, addresses, phone numbers, or other personal identifying information.
  • Food vendors(including food trucks) are prohibited from selling without the proper permits issued from Environmental Health. Permits must be posted in plain view at all times.
  • No altering the environment in any way. No digging or cutting of shrubbery or trees.
  • Photography is allowed, so long as your photography will not be used for profit. Drones or other unmanned aircraft systems without a permit are not allowed unless in a drone cage.
  • No dumping of grey water, slush buckets, and/or left-over drinks on the property.
